If you wish to show your co-workers an important document or a project's current state, you can use a specialized application to allow them to connect to your computer and see what you are doing. This activity can be made difficult if certain members of your audience are not in front of a computer. DisplayNote can solve this issue. Its main advantage is the fact that it allows people to collaborate across different platforms. You can make your presentation on a PC or Mac, while viewers can watch it on their smartphones or tablets. Moreover, the application has a modern and elegant design and its features are very easy to understand.

DisplayNote works on Windows PCs, as well as Mac OS X, iOS and Android platforms. Each version comes in a separate setup package. The iOS and Android editions can be used only as clients, but they are distributed free of charge.

When launched, the application will display a home screen, on a compact user interface, which contains options for starting or joining a collaboration session, creating a new presentation or opening an existing one. You have to create an online account, before starting or joining a session. You can register for a new account on the same interface, after which you have to wait for a confirmation email.

If you decide to start a new collaboration session, you may create a new presentation or open an existing one and share it via live streaming or slide sharing. To join a session, one must specify the session's name and its ID, which is generated automatically. When a user joins your session, he or she will be able to see what you are doing on your computer, in real time.

DisplayNote places the same tools at your disposal, regardless of which option you select on the main interface. The available tools can be found on the left edge of the screen. You can use them to draw on your screen, place post-it notes, select a background, start a video recording and more. The same tools can be used while viewing another user's presentation. You can make your own annotations, record and so on, without affecting your co-worker's presentation.
